The editor

The editor is your photo, full bleed, with everything else floating over it. Panels open on top of the image rather than pushing it into a corner, so you keep seeing what you are changing.

Getting around

• Tool rails sit along the edge. Each one opens a panel: Light, Colour, Effects, Detail, Optics, Crop, Masking, Retouch and Presets.
• Zoom with the zoom pill on the canvas, or pinch. On a Mac the scroll wheel works too.
• Pan by dragging once you are zoomed in.
• The filmstrip along the bottom moves you between photos.

Panels remember where you put them

On iPad and Mac, panels snap to the nearest edge and stay where you left them, so the layout you like persists between sessions rather than resetting every time you open a photo.

Undo and history

Undo and Redo sit in the top bar and step through your edit history. Every change is a step you can walk back, and because edits are stored as instructions rather than baked into pixels, backing out of something late does not degrade the image.

Before and after

Comparing against the untouched original is the quickest way to tell whether an edit is actually helping. It is easy to push contrast and saturation further than you meant to over a long session.
