Getting started
What Monet Lumiere needs to run, and the shortest path from install to a first image.
Monet Lumiere runs on macOS 13 or later and on Windows. The app talks directly to whichever AI image generator you configure under Settings → Providers.
Once it is installed, the shortest path to a first image is:
- Open Settings → Providers, choose a provider’s row, paste its key into API Key and choose Save. The Dashboard warns you while no keys are configured. See setting up API keys.
- Open Generate, write a prompt in plain language, pick a model, and run it.
- Find the result in Library, where it is stored with the prompt and settings that produced it.
The sidebar runs Dashboard, Scenes, Generate, Prompts, Flows, Chat and Library, with Settings at the bottom. You can collapse it to icons if you want more room for the canvas.
The app reopens where you left it: the same page, down to the exact scene or flow, and the same window size and position. To use it in another language, pick one under Settings → Language and the interface switches straight away.
In Projects, Prompts, Flows and Scenes, drag a table header’s right edge to resize that column. Monet remembers each table’s widths.
If you only read one more page, make it regenerating an asset, because that is the part that makes Monet different from a plain image generator.
