Getting started
What Monet Lumiere needs to run, and the shortest path from install to a first image.
Monet Lumiere runs on macOS 13 or later. There is no account, no sign-up, and no subscription. The app talks directly to whichever AI image generator you give it a key for, using your own account with that service.
Once it is installed, the shortest path to a first image is:
- Open Settings → API Keys and paste in at least one key, then choose Save Keys. The Dashboard warns you while no keys are configured. See setting up API keys.
- Open Generate, write a prompt in plain language, pick a model, and run it.
- Find the result in Library, where it is stored with the prompt and settings that produced it.
The sidebar holds the rest: Prompts, Flows, Scenes, Chat and Library. You can collapse it to icons if you want more room for the canvas.
If you only read one more page, make it regenerating an asset, because that is the part that makes Monet different from a plain image generator.
