Activating your licence

Where your key comes from, how to enter it, and what happens when you go offline.

Your key is emailed the moment your purchase completes, along with the download link. It is yours permanently — Operator is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

  1. Open Settings → Info.
  2. Paste the key under License.
  3. Operator verifies it, stores it in your keychain, and the panel turns green: Operator is activated.

The key is bound to the product, not just to any Operator build — a key for a different app is refused with That license belongs to a different product rather than silently half-working.

If you go offline

Operator re-checks the licence periodically. When it cannot reach the licensing service — on a plane, behind a strict firewall, or during an outage — it keeps running in offline grace for seven days, shown as Operator is activated offline with a struck-through Wi-Fi icon. Connect once inside that window and the clock resets.

What the Info panel tells you

  • Operator is activated — verified, with the last four characters of your key and when it was last checked.
  • Operator is activated offline — running on grace; it will re-verify when the network returns.
  • Operator trial — no key entered yet; see the trial.
  • Activate Operator — the trial has ended and a key is needed.

Keep the purchase email. It is the canonical copy of your key, and support can always look it up from the address you bought with.
